OH MY GAGA

I have no words for the greatness that is Lady Gaga. I have always liked her, loved the message of acceptance she preaches and thought her music was catchy. Her voice and paino skills are amazing. Her outfits are amaze-crazeballs. Even if you don't like her songs, you have to AT LEAST recognise that she's an amazing musician and performer. I particularly adore this version of "Poker face". Now, this all was more than enough reason to say "HELLZ TO THE YES" when my sister offered me some tickets to the Born This Way Ball, since she already bought her own and got some extras from skype. I can only tell you this: next time, Imma buy my own tickets.

Needless to say, I think, that the show was amazing. The set consisted of a BIG ASS castle where she, the musicians and the band danced around/in. You can see it here. Sadly, I didn't bring my camera because cameras were strictly forbidden and I don't have a compact camera I can sneakily stuff into my bra . I took a friend with me and she took a picture with her cellphone, which is also good! :-D Better than nothing! The fun already started with getting ready, helping/messing up my sister's make up and picking out my outfit. If I had a bit more time I would've tried making a faux hawk but no worries: as long as I have short hair I will definitely try out that faux hawk. I might give it a try this weekend. And I still won't guarantee you I won't ever go for a full on mohawk one day. ANYWAYS, going to a concert is always the time for me to go full on rocker. A Gaga concert means sexy rocker! You can't go to a Gaga concert and not show some skin, folks. This was the outfit of honor:

She had a cold and still did an amazing job with the singing. In times where Katy Perry is a succesful singer while she can barely sing live (no hating, just the truth!) it's refreshing to have an actual SINGER earn her living as a singer. I loved all of the songs, I screamed so hard during "Born this way", "Alejandro", "Americano", "Bad Romance"... OKAY just every song. It wasn't even on the edge of glory, it was full on glorious (see what I did there?). The best parts of the show, for me personally, were the parts where she talked to the audience. Somewhere in the first half hour of the show she gave some boring business men a tonguelashing for not standing up and having fun at her concert. If there's anything I hate at concerts, it's the party poopers. People who look at you like you're some crazy person when you dance around and yell out "GAGA I LOVE YOU" between songs. YES, I DO THAT SHIT. When at concerts, I go full on fangirl. And I love it. If you don't want to go crazy at a concert, don't come! There was a group of really tiny women next to me (like, TINY, they might've been 1.55m/5ft1 max) and they were giving me the stink eye everytime I showed some sort of enthousiasm. They were giving some serious stink eye the whole concert, basically. :-D One of the girls even sat down on the floor a couple of times. Sitting down. On the floor. At a concert. JUST. NO. And Gaga was right to give the boring men a tonguelashing. They had the best seats in the  errr, arena and they weren't even enjoying themselves. You can give me your tickets then, mate! They probably got tickets from the company they work for or something. HMPF.

In the later part of the show she noticed something: the first time people came to see her, they would dress up as her. Now, years later, they dress up as themselves. No more pretending to be someone else but just being who they are. If you have a message of praising individuality and acceptance, I don't think that there's anything more beautiful than this. Inspiring people to be themselves, to have the courage to dress, talk and walk however they want to. Lady Gaga, I salute you. Thank you for the wonderful night, giving us bad kids these days some solid ground and spreading the body positive message!

OH and The Darkness! Great supporting act. They were really good and the leadsinger is kind of adorbs! I had a great time! Thanks to my lovely sis, her awesome boyfriend and my great friend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & ode to awesome boyfriend

TO ME! :-D Here I am with my birthday post! I'll show you my presents, cake and outfit! Get ready!

On exactly the first minute of my birthday I got my first present from my boyfriend. A little box black box. Of course the first thing you think when you see a box like that is 'ZOMG it's a ring!' and I was hoping for a little jewellery from my guy! This was the box:

Pretty cute, right? My boyfriend usually sucks at wrapping gifts but he did his best and it looked so adorable! Inside, there was a gorgeous ring and a little note saying 'To the happiness in my life, happy birthday. I love you'. *melts*

Gorgeous, right? I love this kind of jewellery, colorful and feminine but not too girly and petite. When I wear tiny rings it kind of looks like my finger is eating the ring. I have a bit of chubs on my fingers. :-D

I love this ring and it shows that my boyfriend really knows what I like! Perfection! We always kind of use birthdays/anniversaries as little tests to show how well we know each other. Books, movies, jewellery, we know how to make each other happy! I also got these amazing earrings:

These are all the presents I got from my man, including the ring, earrings, 'The West Wing' box set (one of my favorite tv shows of all time! C.J. Cregg is my homegirl!), a beautiful shade of lipstick (bright peachy!) and a subscription to my favorite photography magazine for a whole year!!! I'm so incredibly happy with all the presents and I'll be enjoying all of them for a long time! I got some presents from my mom too, who never knows what to buy. :-D:

I was out of bodylotion and face cream so that came in handy, the plaid thingie underneath the bottle are pyjamas and a claire's giftcard. I saw a couple of things in claire's that I wanted so I told my mom to go to there if she didn't know what to buy me. She went to claire's but still didn't know what to buy so she gave me a gift card. Which was the sensible thing to do really, at least now I know I got some stuff I actually like. I just went to claire's yesterday and bought 4 pairs of earrings and a red glittery headband. Gorgeous stuff! She also let me pick out some hairdyes and paid for the dyes so that was pretty cool too! I now have toner, bright yellow, bright pink, violet and neon blue to try out! Looking forward to it! OH and every birthday I get the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers from my loverboy, for romance and photography! :-D I took some lovely pictures if I can say so myself and I will be posting those pictures on my photography blog so keep your eye out!

Superdog! My day was simple, I had good food, lots of cake and tea, lovely conversations with my boyfriend and brother over skype, we made pizza and drank kiddie champagne because I hate the taste of alcohol. The only upside of turning eighteen over here is being able to drink liquor and I freaking hate drinking anything with alcohol so THANKS LAW, why not give something cool to newly turned 18 year olds instead of giving them a license to get drunk? PFOO. I don't care though because I already had the best presents ever! As I already mentioned I also got bright green knockoff doc martens from my sister, a photography book from my youngest brother and I'm hoping to receive a Legend of Zelda shirt from my oldest brother in two weeks or so! So excited for that! Thank you everybody for giving awesome presents, wishing me a happy birthday and being awesome! The day after my birthday was great too, by the way. We made sushi, watched a very short lunar eclipse and I made pictures of the lunar eclipse, sunset and flowers I got from my man. It was lovely and I can't believe I have such a wonderful man in my life.

A quick one, while he's away

Lovedoves, I don't have much time today to tell you a nice bedtime story because my boyfriend is helping me with brushing up my math (which I'm not minding actually! I love learning new stuff more than I thought I hated math!) and it's already eleven in the evening here in ol' Belgium so I'm gonna go to bed in a little while. I have to get up early to go trade a shirt in my mom bought for me as a present, with her knowledge, since it was so hideously not me. My mom's a real sweetheart but she has a long line of buying her daughters the most godawful clothing in the entire world. And my boy needs the car in the afternoon so Imma go trade it in first thing in the early morning. I'm just posting my outfit and a fresh batch of pincurls! Love you and see you later! Oh and a special mentioning for my niece, Ally, who had her first leading role in a musical at her school as Mulan!! YEAH! I love Mulan!! It 'premiered' today and I hope everything went great but I'm sure it did, she's gonna rock everybodies socks off.

We Will Rock You! + my own version of pincurls

Yes! I actually went to the "We Will Rock You" musical two times, it played for two months and me and my boy went to the premiere and the last show. The last show was definitely more awesome, the actors got really comfortable in their roles (the jokes were a lot more spontaneous) and they were just amazing singers. The story is a bit lame (Ben Elton wrote it, Blackadder is one of my favorite series ever but you can't say the storylines are mindblowing) but you know, Queen songs and good actors/singers and that's all you need to make a killer show to be honest. This is actually more of a rockshow than a musical thanks to Queen of course and I loved it. Queen has some of the most epic (rock)songs out there and I never get enough of them. Freddie Mercury was just an amazing musician, writer, performer and much more. Queen made way for other bands, they weren't afraid to be different or weird. I feel that a lot of people don't appreciate Queen and they're often just depicted as 'that band with the faggot singer' and apart from the fact that I Extremely dislike it when people use a word like that AND using the word 'gay' as if it's something bad I also just really find it sad that people can't appreciate their music for what it was: Kick Ass. Some songs were a bit cheesy and 'I'm in love with my car' is probably one of the worst titles for a song in the history of music but in the end of the day... they're just epic. I went to a concert of their 'The cosmos rocks' tour with Paul Rodgers and while I'm not fond of Paul Rodgers I loved it. And I cried, of course, when they did Bohemian Rhapsody with Freddie on the big screens, playing the intro. Sniffles. Such an amazing musician. His piano skills were just crazy too, listen to 'Death on two legs' or 'Seven seas of rhye' and you'll know what I mean. And of course, they collaborated with one of my favorite people EVER, David Bowie! I love 'under pressure'

ANYWAYZ, Check out this video of my favorite couple of the musical, Britney and Ozzy singing 'I want it all', the sound quality isn't great but they're fantastic singers.

I'll tell you a little bit of the story. I think the year is 2343 or something and "real" music is forbidden. Everything is computermade and everyone looks exactly the same, it's illegal to be an individual. It's called 'The Gaga era' after Radio gaga of course. Radio gaga is now Internet Gaga.(radio gaga plays) The world is ruled by The Killer Queen and her righthand Kashoggi and of course lots of henchmen. She sees everything you do and if she's not satisfied with you, your soul will be destroyed and go to the Seven Seas of Rhye. Nice girl, right?(Killer queen and Play the game play) Of course there are always some rebel rebels on the loose and that's how we find our two main characters: Galileo Figaro(the dude, he sings 'I want to break free') and Scaramouche(the gal, she sings 'Somebody to Love'). They're captured by The Killer Queen for not wanting to conform to 'the herd' and eventually escape when they realise that they have to run in order to survive.(Under pressure plays) There's a group of rebels, The Bohemians, and they're looking for 'The Dreamer', a person, who they believe, hears ancient rock music inside his or her head. He or she could lead them to the only existing instrument which was sealed away long ago, by a curlyhaired dude called Brian May. (:-D). And when they find that instrument, they can break free from The Killer Queen and feed the world Real Music again. The prophecy they live by is "to Find the place of Living Rock, A bright star will show you the way"(something like that) Of course, 'The Dreamer' is Galileo Figaro. The story is a bit flat when it comes to his 'baby', Scaramouche, but in the end she gets the facemelting guitarsolo so all is well.

There's a couple in the rebel group, Britney and Ozzy, who dream of the prophecy and of real rock (I want it all plays) and they find Galileo and Scaramouche (headlong plays) and bring them back to their secret lair where the group hides out, The Heartbreak Hotel, to protect them from The Killer Queen. They're told about rockstars, about Elvis and Freddie (and I just think John Lennon and Keith Moon with them, No One but you plays) What they don't know is... when Galileo and Scaramouche were captured, the Killer Queen henchmen put a little transmitter in their neck, so they could find them wherever they'd go. So Kashoggi and his henchmen find Heartbreak Hotel and take The Bohemians to torture their souls and their souls go to the Seven Seas of Rhye.(seven seas of rhye plays) Of course, Scaramouche and Galileo escape, Scaramouche realises that they have a transmitter in their necks and cuts them out. Then they realise that they have no one but each other,(Who wants to live forever plays) They realise that they love each other and sleep together. (yeah, that's awfully quick but I ain't judging!) The morning after they have a big fight (Hammer to fall plays) but still decide that they need to go to the Seven Seas of Rhye to find out why all the souls go there. When they get to the Seven Seas of Rhye, they find an old dude, The Librarian, who works there as a bartender.(These are the days of our lives plays) Apperantly, the Seven Seas of Rhye is also a bar. He tells them that the tortured souls of The Bohemians always come there after they've been destroyed by The Killer Queen because the vibe of Rock still lingers here. The Librarian shows them a videotape of Queen singing the intro Bohemian Rhapsody and WOOSH, out of the water comes a statue, Freddie Mercury, who points north. Scaramouche figures out that this it the bright star from the prophecy (Freddie of course) and the Librarian knows that up north, Wembley Stadium lies. They hop on the motorbike (Take a long ride on my motorbike 'til I'm ready!) and ride to Wembley Stadium (headlong plays again).

But when they get there, no instrument is found. Galileo and Scaramouche reconcile (love of my life plays), finding that they can't live without each other, and they make music together. The intro of We will rock you is sung and it reveals the red special, Brian Mays ancient guitar (my boy has a guitar like that by the way, he can rock out like no other! he's the biggest Queen fan you can imagine). Galileo tries to play a facemelting guitarsolo but he sucks so he wants to smash it. Scaramouche tries and instantely squeezes out 'Brighton rock' (I was very pleased with that, at least the female protagonist is a LITTLE important). The Librarian hacks into the interwebz so that everyone on the planet can hear Galileo and Scaramouche making some real music and The Killer Queen is defeated. We will rock you, we are the champions and as an encore, Bohemian rhapsody is performed.

I thought the musical was loads of fun, I got to headbang and scream all I want and the music was great. I wore this:

My make up was matching yellow-orang with my shirt and I loved it!

The pincurls are the easiest way EVER to obtain these wild ass curls. Of course, I did them messily because I wanted a more rock/punk like hairstyle instead of cutesy retro. I used my sister's tutorial: the styling dutchman does pincurls , and it was the easiest thing ever. The rolling up the hair, I did it in less than ten minutes. I slept on it and kept it in until an hour or so before we had to leave to catch the musical. I sprayed a hell of a lot of hairspray on it and the next day my hair was still curly! I love the way it bounces. I tried them a different way too, brushing them out a little gives a great volume to the hair and some pretty wavyness. I'm incredibly happy with them!
