Etam Beauty review: 07 - Vert étoilé

A make-up post for you on sunday! I'm still playing around with my Etam eyeshadows and I will be playing around with this gorgeous Sleek palette I got for a couple of euros from fellow blogger Nathalie, I can't wait! So much make-up, so little free time!

So this color is, I think, my favorite of all the colors I have from Etam Beauty. It's this gorgeous mermaid-y blue-green color with lots of sparkle that creates a beautiful depth when you put it on. I absolutely love creating dramatic smokey eyes with this color, but it's also very wearable in a more subtle way.

I CAN NOT stress enough how much fun it is to play around with bases. Especially with colors that are kind of holographic and have mulitple colors in them, it can make a world of difference and basically gives you a new color with every base. If you have some creamy eyepencils laying around, definitely try it out!

This is the look I did! I put a darker blue in the crease, a blue-green highlighter by essence in the inner corners and the rest is all vert étoilé!

For the neutral lips I used a nude lipgloss by Essence, which my sister swatched here. It goes with everything, costs less than 5 euro and feels really silky on the lips, so it's a big yes too. It doesn't last a very long time, but it's easy to reapply and I'm used to the reapplying, so for me that's not an issue.

HOW ABOUT THAT EYESHADOW THOUGH? Jebus, I can't stop looking at it. I keep looking at my swatched hand and thinking, everytime the light changes, "OMG IT SPARKLES". I'm a simple gal, people. So another BIG triumph for the Etam eyeshadows! My favorite thing about this eyeshadow is that it makes me feel like a mermaid, and mermaids are majestic as hell.

Blonde

I still have a gazillion outfits with dark hair but I just NEED to share this with you lovely creatures. Because I'm so happy! I've always had dark hair, even with my bright colors. Now, I'm full on blonde.

Oooh SNAP I feel so awesome right now. I feel so fresh and so clean-clean, like the outcast song! I might lighten it even more, I'll try to tone it somewhere this week. I'm so glad anyways, IMMA BE BLONDE FO EVAH! It's a huge succes, everyone thinks I look like a total babe. Most awesomely, someone told me I look like a fairytale creature. Best compliment ever. :-D

OH, the dye I used is Schwarzkopf Blonde super plus intensive blond. That shit is hardcore. It specifically promises to lighten dark brown hair to a golden blonde. Which it did, to perfection! It's a little blotchy here and there but I don't mind, that's probably just because it was the first time we did something this hardcore. Thanks to the momster for dying my hair!!! YAY!

Make over

I'm sorry I haven't made blogpost in a while (again!) but I've just been dealing with me and my emotions and it's hella tiring. I haven't been able to concentrate or go to school and I have moments when I just feel like I could fall through the earth because of some big ass brick I feel in my stomach. Some days are better than others but the feeling never goes away. I'm hoping it will. If it was only a little bit of a sad feeling that you could get rid of by crying and getting a hug from your boyfriend. But it's not. This is a different kind of sadness, something I've never felt before. On the really bad moments it's almost immobilizing. And I worry. I worry about not being able to do my exams in June because I can't concentrate for the life of me. I worry that I'll keep feeling this feeling for ever. I worry that my boyfriend will dump/cheat on me because I have massive fear of abandonement issues right now. Most of the time I just feel one of those worries but when they all come together it SUCKS BALLS. Luckily I think my boyfriend loves me so that's one thing. But the rest is still scary. Now I will awkwardly change this depressing post into a hair post. Life is awkward sometimes. I can't give my poor readers depressing posts and no eyecandy!

After having my awesome and eternally flattering bob-haircut for two years in a row (which is a long time for me, I've been switching haircuts and lengths a lot since I turned twelve or something) I started lusting after short hair again. I'm always lusting after short hair. There's something about it, if it's the right short cut that frames a face the right way... I find it incredibly attractive. Haircuts like these always make me want to chop my hair immediately:

I want to marry the Michelle Williams picture. How adorable is she?! Anyhoo, I don't keep lusting very long. I'm a do-er! So peoples, here is my new 'do!

I'm so happy with it, I found an awesome new hairdresser thanks to my sister and he did an amazing job. It's exactly what I asked for and I feel awesome with it. My 100 shadow palette is one of the best things ever. And a little tip for girls who want to chop their hair but are afraid of what their boys are going to say: they'll nag before you go to the hairdresser but when you come back they'll just love the fact that they can see your face even better. :-D

Print on print on Pink

I used to love Pink. Not the color but the singer. Well actually also the color. But I still love the color and not so much the singer. I haven't been loving the songs she brought out the last couple of years. But back when she was all the rage with 'Don't let me get me', 'Let's get this party started', 'Family portrait' and 'Just like a Pill' I loved her. Pink and No Doubt were of course total girl power. And I really liked her 'I'm not dead' album! I actually went to see her on that tour with my sister and some of her friends and that was my first concert. So she'll always have a special place in my heart! I still really like her voice, it has this raspy quality that can totally pull off softer acoustic stuff but also some fun poprock. Of course, as a multicolor/bright hair lover I always dug her bright pink hair at the beginning of her career.

My outfit is very bright and colorful and I felt so good wearing it. When I think back a year and a half/two years I remember being so inscure about wearing skirts above the knee because of course, apart from the fact that I was already a self conscious teenage girl, the fashion gurus wiggle their little fingers at wearing stuff above the knee unless you have a certain shape or skinny legs or whatever kind of weird ass rules they apply. They have this strange idea that it's empowering for women of all shapes and sizes to be told that they are NOT the same, CANNOT wear the same things because hey, nobody wants to see the cellulite on your thighs and nobody wants to see a short girl on flats. Only show people your best assets! Do not let people know that we're not perfect! To appear skinnier and taller at all times! Even if you're already tall and skinny you still need photoshop! The things that irritate me the most are probably that almost all well known stylists and fashion gurus look exactly the same. Most of the time, long straight hair, wear dark colors, fabrics that look very expensive and a pencilskirt and some stiletto's. When it's a guy, always a suit and short hair. And of course dressy shoes. Wouldn't it be nice to have someone do make-overs and actually have a style of their own? I've seen it so many times: in comes fashionista ready to make someone over, enter the 'victim': maybe a bikerchick, maybe a hippie. At the end of the make over, they all look like 'proper ladies' but not an inch of uniqueness is preserved in their styles. Maybe the hippie woman got some large earrings and the bikerchick got a smart leather jacket. I'm pretty sure that my style would not be tolerated by most of the fashiongurus. Too much color, might look childish! Too much floral, you look like an untrimmed flowergarden! Too many sneakers, oh honey you don't need to look like you can run off and shoot hoops! Midiskirts, SO unflattering for a girl with chunky calves! Shouldn't people dress however they want to dress? Sure, if people ask for help because they seem to be stuck in a rut and can't get out of it themselves, by all means go help! But I almost never hear the 'helpers' ask "What do YOU like?" and than maybe tweak it to make it a little more stylish if that is what pleases him/her. I wish fashion/clothing would just be something to have fun with, no rules and prejudice attached. So here! My colorful, sneakerful style!

I'm loving this bright lipstick, this bright pink really makes me lust after some bright warm orangy color. I love to mix my lipstickcolors together and I'd really like to mix a little orange with my bright red! Warm red colors always look so classy to me. And a little sidenote: I'm hoping that my boy will help me dye my hair again tomorrow! I have some unused turquoise in my cabinet and I'm dying (sniffles) to use it!
