Dawn of the first (part of the) day: Amusement Park "Efteling"

Kudos if you got the Majora's mask reference in the title!

Here I am with a bigass, picture overloaded post on our day at the Efteling, a fantasy/fairytale themed park. The weather was awesome, the amount of people there was pretty acceptable and family time: it was a lovely day. The post will be a two parter because there's a shitload of pictures of all the different rides/places where we went. Imma start with pictures of me, a quick look at my outfit (more detailed shots in the next post) and a little talking about the first part of our day. Before we even went in we asked a nice stranger to take our picture. CHEEZ!

The first thing we did when we were in was sit down, draw out our route on the map which would later prove to be an asshole and had some sammiches. Yes, the first thing we did was eat. And this is the face I make when my sister eats part of my sandwich even though I specifically told her NOT to:

Life is so much more fun if you make crazy faces! Adorable me and a close up of my nails:

After having my sandwich stolen and eaten by my sister we went on our way to the first ride of the day, "Fata Morgana" or "1001 nights", a dark ride where you sit in a boat, riding through an Arabian world with dolls acting out certain scenes with a wonderful soundtrack and perfect atmosphere. The smells of spices and incent were delicious and almost made you forget you were on a ride. A market place, harbor, jungle, harem, you'll see. You'll have to excuse me for the shakyness of the pictures, as I said it was pretty dark and everything was moving... I hope you enjoy it anyways! The outside of the area was just as gorgeous as the inside, with a beautiful fountain (and me being smug):

some details of the tower:

Inside, before the ride:

EXCITED SISTER IS EXCITED! Now the actual ride:

This was the doctor or torturer... I'm still not sure. :-D
The market scene:

The poor part of town:

Richer part of town, starting with the harbor:

The market place for wealthier people:

AAH TIGER! I knew the mofo would be roaring in my face but it still freaked me out. Pansy alert!

The golden cage with the harem inside:

And a peeping Tom:

The last scene was a fancy party:

Last but not least, riding through the legs of a giant Arab:

This being his crotch. His face, too, freaked me the hell out. The ending was a door with lazahrz:

After the ride you go through a little souvenir shop with Arabian themed accessories where I bought a pair of earrings, my sister bought a bracelet and my mom bought some incent and little decorative boxes. And no one was ever this happy with tiny boxes.

They were really pretty though!

It was a great ride. (a little lame, like the whole amusement park, but awesomely so)

The second and scariest thing we did: ROLLERCOASTER ARGHGARBLE. I am a complete pansy, that's what you should know for starters. I remember going to an amusement park for the first time when I was thirteen and while I never went on anything scary before, I did the whole shabang: loop de loops, freefalling, backwards, upside down, fast as fuck, you get the picture. I thought is was awesome, just good fun. Now I went on a rollercoaster that didn't even have a loop de loop and it scared the hell outta me. I'm older and pansier. I'm not sure why, I really enjoyed it back than but I can't even imagine enjoying that stuff now. Whatever the reason for that might be, it's safe to say that I've changed quite a bit since I was thirteen. The rollercoaster was scary but fun! I'm glad I went with my sis and mom, who are just as much of a pansy as me.

The scariest thing there was BY FAR this thing called "The Python":

EEEK, right? I ain't doing that shit, man. We went on this one:

The wooden rollercoaster. It was called "Joris en de draak" (George and the dragon) and it had a big dragon head coming out of the wall when you rode by that certain part. I didn't see it, of course, because I had my eyes closed for most of the ride. LAME-O, I know. I opened my eyes now and then but that didn't work for me, to say the least. :-D I will close this post with our faces of HORROR just minutes before going on the ride:

(if you're familiar with Mario Tennis 64 you should look at my face and hear Luigi make the "OOOHoHOhoho" sound when he loses. It's a perfect match.)

Hope you had a great weekend and that you enjoyed this post, there's still many a picture to come!

Parrot top

Yes, that was a pun. You know, instead of Carrot top I said Parrot top. Carrot top has some awesome wild red locks going on though. I can't guarantee ya I won't ever get a red 'fro somewhere down the line.

Since it's been terribly hot the last week/week and a half I thank my lucky numbers I bought some tank tops/light shirts in the last remains of July sales. One I will be featuring in my next post, (amusement park post with lots of pictures, including a picture of the crotch of a huge Arabian dude statue. You'll see.) one I will be featuring now! I'm normally not all that into shirts with random prints but animals/nature is always good. For realz or on shirts, 's all guud. So, without further ado, here's my parrot top!

Pretty, huh? I loved it immediately, the parrot looks like it's painted with watercolors. I love watercolors! It's a pretty simple outfit but it was comfy and colorful. That's all I need! Close up of my promised nosering!:

Mhmmm, total badass. I never saw myself as a badass but swooning over Xena: the warrior princess, goths and punks as a little girl (how could I not, my older sister was a punk for a while) I pretty much vowed to myself to be at least somewhat of a badass, some day. I still have the same shy, goofy smile I had when I was seven but I now smile goofily with bright green short hair and a nosering. :-D Oh yeah, I cut my hair again. First I'm going to finish up my "long hair" posts before I'll show you my new 'do but I can tell you it's WICKED HOT. I've said this so many times before but I always feel so much more like myself with freshly cut hair. When I've washed my hair I just kind of shake like a dog and my hair is exactly as I like it, slightly strange and messy. Just the way I like my men, too.

On the flip side, I'll see you! (you'll have to imagine the Yoda voice with it yourself :-D)

edit:
top, nosering: C&A
skirt, scarf as belt: T2 vintage
sandals: zara
sunglasses: vintage

Here on the beach + hot dude extra

A couple of weeks ago I went to the beach with my sister and mom, I'd post a more recent outfit but it's so hot I'll probably melt by just looking at more than one layer of clothes (more than bathingsuit/underwear, basically). I'm usually not a super sweaty person but last night it was so hot my hair got all sticky. Practicality wise, I'd rather have it be too cold than too hot. You can always just slap on more layers to keep you warm, however, when it's super hot and you're already wearing just the bare minimum to not be completely naked, there's nothing you can do about it. I have the worst time sleeping in warm weather too, I'm so happy to have a fan in my bedroom. It's a particularly nice one too:

OOH SNAP that was a terrible joke. I wish he was a fan of mine. And in my bedroom. The weather isn't doing anything good for my hormones. This dude is one of my recent finds, I wasn't particularly enamored with him in "Game of Thrones" because he's a total dickwad and the blonde hair doesn't do him any justice. I barely recognise him with the short, dark hair. He's SO FINE it's not even fair. I think I have a thing for dark eyebrows. If you don't recognise him either, he's the Khaleesi's brother. His name is Harry Lloyd and you know you will be googling him. MOVING ON.

As I was telling you, I went to the beach a couple a weeks ago, the weather was beautiful and just warm enough, with a cool breeze, to comfortably lie around on a towel, reading a book, laughing without any reason whatsoever and falling asleep. Thanks to my rigorous routine of slapping on suntan lotion I didn't even get burned a little! It's a rare, joyous event when I can go to the beach with my fair as hell skin and come back slightly colored instead of lobstery red. No make up either, which you can see by the honker of a pimple on my chin. :-D I did like seeing my summer freckles make an appearance. Let's be honest, we don't want our face running down our face when we just want to mozy around on a hot day. And if you're planning on going for a swim you're bound to get some salty water in your eyes, than you'll rub your eyes, than you have raccoon eyes from the mascara... you're better off to just go commando, face wise. Or, if it's that kind of beach, completely, if you will. Soaking up the sun is always better with a bare face! Also, I got some wonderful compliments on this "au naturel look" of mine. I like playing around with colorful make up and I love all different kinds of looks but I'm so glad I'm not too insecure anymore to confidently go out without make up. The thirteen year old me would be horrified at first but also super proud and happy to see I've come a long way. If anything, I'd like to think that I turned out like the cool girl I wanted to be. Confident enough to be myself in every way, whether it's stating my opinion on something important to me, standing up for myself or being able to feel perfectly confident in my skin, scantily clad without any make up. Also, I have had every color of the rainbow as a haircolor and I have a kickass nosering. If that wouldn't make the thirteen year old me proud, I don't know what would! :-D

I have a total beach babe thing going on in these pictures. Also: BECAUSE WE'RE WORTH IT. It needs to be said when you do a hairflip.

and of course silly pictures of me and the sis:

total tanline on my ass, there. It looks a little burned too. AW MAN, I didn't leave the beach burn-free after all. :-(

When being silly, there has to be a prima ballerina pose somewhere in there. It's a rule. Last picture with my fashionable, big hat-wearing momster:

I'll see you later, my lovelies!

P.S.: I just got started on twitter, I have to figure out how I can use it the best but hey, at least I'm there already! Say hi at https://twitter.com/The_Canon_Girl!
