We Will Rock You! + my own version of pincurls

Yes! I actually went to the "We Will Rock You" musical two times, it played for two months and me and my boy went to the premiere and the last show. The last show was definitely more awesome, the actors got really comfortable in their roles (the jokes were a lot more spontaneous) and they were just amazing singers. The story is a bit lame (Ben Elton wrote it, Blackadder is one of my favorite series ever but you can't say the storylines are mindblowing) but you know, Queen songs and good actors/singers and that's all you need to make a killer show to be honest. This is actually more of a rockshow than a musical thanks to Queen of course and I loved it. Queen has some of the most epic (rock)songs out there and I never get enough of them. Freddie Mercury was just an amazing musician, writer, performer and much more. Queen made way for other bands, they weren't afraid to be different or weird. I feel that a lot of people don't appreciate Queen and they're often just depicted as 'that band with the faggot singer' and apart from the fact that I Extremely dislike it when people use a word like that AND using the word 'gay' as if it's something bad I also just really find it sad that people can't appreciate their music for what it was: Kick Ass. Some songs were a bit cheesy and 'I'm in love with my car' is probably one of the worst titles for a song in the history of music but in the end of the day... they're just epic. I went to a concert of their 'The cosmos rocks' tour with Paul Rodgers and while I'm not fond of Paul Rodgers I loved it. And I cried, of course, when they did Bohemian Rhapsody with Freddie on the big screens, playing the intro. Sniffles. Such an amazing musician. His piano skills were just crazy too, listen to 'Death on two legs' or 'Seven seas of rhye' and you'll know what I mean. And of course, they collaborated with one of my favorite people EVER, David Bowie! I love 'under pressure'

ANYWAYZ, Check out this video of my favorite couple of the musical, Britney and Ozzy singing 'I want it all', the sound quality isn't great but they're fantastic singers.

And I loved the costumes of course!
Sorry, google doesn't provide the greatest pictures and these aren't actual pictures from the show in Antwerp but the costumes are 99% the same. Very punk/goth and than some random elements in there. Also: THE WHO shirts! YAY!

I'll tell you a little bit of the story. I think the year is 2343 or something and "real" music is forbidden. Everything is computermade and everyone looks exactly the same, it's illegal to be an individual. It's called 'The Gaga era' after Radio gaga of course. Radio gaga is now Internet Gaga.(radio gaga plays) The world is ruled by The Killer Queen and her righthand Kashoggi and of course lots of henchmen. She sees everything you do and if she's not satisfied with you, your soul will be destroyed and go to the Seven Seas of Rhye. Nice girl, right?(Killer queen and Play the game play) Of course there are always some rebel rebels on the loose and that's how we find our two main characters: Galileo Figaro(the dude, he sings 'I want to break free') and Scaramouche(the gal, she sings 'Somebody to Love'). They're captured by The Killer Queen for not wanting to conform to 'the herd' and eventually escape when they realise that they have to run in order to survive.(Under pressure plays) There's a group of rebels, The Bohemians, and they're looking for 'The Dreamer', a person, who they believe, hears ancient rock music inside his or her head. He or she could lead them to the only existing instrument which was sealed away long ago, by a curlyhaired dude called Brian May. (:-D). And when they find that instrument, they can break free from The Killer Queen and feed the world Real Music again. The prophecy they live by is "to Find the place of Living Rock, A bright star will show you the way"(something like that) Of course, 'The Dreamer' is Galileo Figaro. The story is a bit flat when it comes to his 'baby', Scaramouche, but in the end she gets the facemelting guitarsolo so all is well.

There's a couple in the rebel group, Britney and Ozzy, who dream of the prophecy and of real rock (I want it all plays) and they find Galileo and Scaramouche (headlong plays) and bring them back to their secret lair where the group hides out, The Heartbreak Hotel, to protect them from The Killer Queen. They're told about rockstars, about Elvis and Freddie (and I just think John Lennon and Keith Moon with them, No One but you plays) What they don't know is... when Galileo and Scaramouche were captured, the Killer Queen henchmen put a little transmitter in their neck, so they could find them wherever they'd go. So Kashoggi and his henchmen find Heartbreak Hotel and take The Bohemians to torture their souls and their souls go to the Seven Seas of Rhye.(seven seas of rhye plays) Of course, Scaramouche and Galileo escape, Scaramouche realises that they have a transmitter in their necks and cuts them out. Then they realise that they have no one but each other,(Who wants to live forever plays) They realise that they love each other and sleep together. (yeah, that's awfully quick but I ain't judging!) The morning after they have a big fight (Hammer to fall plays) but still decide that they need to go to the Seven Seas of Rhye to find out why all the souls go there. When they get to the Seven Seas of Rhye, they find an old dude, The Librarian, who works there as a bartender.(These are the days of our lives plays) Apperantly, the Seven Seas of Rhye is also a bar. He tells them that the tortured souls of The Bohemians always come there after they've been destroyed by The Killer Queen because the vibe of Rock still lingers here. The Librarian shows them a videotape of Queen singing the intro Bohemian Rhapsody and WOOSH, out of the water comes a statue, Freddie Mercury, who points north. Scaramouche figures out that this it the bright star from the prophecy (Freddie of course) and the Librarian knows that up north, Wembley Stadium lies. They hop on the motorbike (Take a long ride on my motorbike 'til I'm ready!) and ride to Wembley Stadium (headlong plays again).

But when they get there, no instrument is found. Galileo and Scaramouche reconcile (love of my life plays), finding that they can't live without each other, and they make music together. The intro of We will rock you is sung and it reveals the red special, Brian Mays ancient guitar (my boy has a guitar like that by the way, he can rock out like no other! he's the biggest Queen fan you can imagine). Galileo tries to play a facemelting guitarsolo but he sucks so he wants to smash it. Scaramouche tries and instantely squeezes out 'Brighton rock' (I was very pleased with that, at least the female protagonist is a LITTLE important). The Librarian hacks into the interwebz so that everyone on the planet can hear Galileo and Scaramouche making some real music and The Killer Queen is defeated. We will rock you, we are the champions and as an encore, Bohemian rhapsody is performed.

I thought the musical was loads of fun, I got to headbang and scream all I want and the music was great. I wore this:

Freddie Mercury shirt and Elvis belt!
The best earrings ever!
My make up was matching yellow-orang with my shirt and I loved it!
The pincurls are the easiest way EVER to obtain these wild ass curls. Of course, I did them messily because I wanted a more rock/punk like hairstyle instead of cutesy retro. I used my sister's tutorial: the styling dutchman does pincurls , and it was the easiest thing ever. The rolling up the hair, I did it in less than ten minutes. I slept on it and kept it in until an hour or so before we had to leave to catch the musical. I sprayed a hell of a lot of hairspray on it and the next day my hair was still curly! I love the way it bounces. I tried them a different way too, brushing them out a little gives a great volume to the hair and some pretty wavyness. I'm incredibly happy with them!
(Freddie stance)
Hope you like my outfit/hair and I hope you enjoyed the story! :-D

Preppy hippy and honking rant

I was very happy with this outfit, I rarely wear the shirt and sweater I'm wearing in these pictures while they're perfectly good clothes. To wear bright red I really have to be in the mood. I also just found a couple of shirts that my boyfriend bought a year or so ago, which he bought when he first lost weight. Now he lost even more weight and has to buy everything extra small (he's a naturally skinny dude, he just ate incredibly unhealthy for a long time and probably lost some babyfat too) I can wear the tops that he bought when he was still a small. When it comes to men's fashion I am always a bit shocked to see what they consider a size 'small'. I can basically drown in the men's small in the C&A (H&M has better fitted stuff, who would've thought?) and I have a large in most women's clothes. I also just realised why it is that I very often see skinny dudes on the street wearing their pants halfway/below their ass. They just don't have the right sizes! My boy finally got some good fitting pants in vintage shops (of all places! Vintage is just made for me and my loved ones :-D) and is now the proud owner of many well fitting levi's jeans... which he bought for 2 euro each... I ain't kidding folks, that stuff costs a hundred euro a piece and we have 6-7 pairs of them jeans for not even twenty euro altogether. Seriously, it's amazing. My boy and me have a lot of difficulty finding stuff that fits us nicely, for a normal/cheap budget especially, and we find it all in vintage shops. Clothing wise I'm totally set for colder days. When there are sales again, in my lovely T2, I might buy a nice jumper/sweater/cardigan but other than that I'm totally okay!

I also want to express my frustration with dickheads (excuse my language) who find it HIlARIOUS to honk at me while I'm taking pictures. I'm not sure WHY they honk, maybe because I'm a woman, maybe because they want to startle me and see if I drop my equipment worth something between one and two thousand euro and I had to save up all the money I ever had since I've been thirteen and a half to even make those things happen, maybe because they accidentally pushed the horn when they drove by me while driving 600 miles per hour (okay not that fast but you know what I mean, fucking cowards.). Seriously, if one of those douchebags will ever make me drop my camera (which is pretty impossible since I make a very very big deal of it to wear it around my neck at all times) I will find them and honk at them until they become deaf and than steal their money to buy my equipment back. WHY DO YOU HONK AT ME, ASSHOLE?! I'm trying to make my own fucking art, minding my own fucking business, you don't need to go MEEP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP everytime you drive by. PISS OFF. It's NOT fucking funny. Do you have any idea how irritating and startling it is to be completely 'in the zone', thinking of how you can make the lighting hit the leaf you're about to take a picture of more perfectly, slightly tilting the leaf a bit so it looks better with the other leaf that's gently swinging to the soft wind, thinking of how gorgeous the golden evening light is and how it reminds you of Zelda: Ocarina of time and how you'd like a gorgeous red horse with white manes like Epona to ride into the sunset and go find Kokiri forest to go live there forever when suddenly MEEP MEEP and your whole mindset and composition is completely fucked up! Okay. now my rant is done. I hope you can relate to my frustration. HAVE PEOPLE NO RESPECT FOR THE ARTS?! (I take most of my outfit pictures in my garden so I don't have to deal with those dickheads)

Now the outfit:

And thank you guys so much for the feedback on my last post, I think I'll be going for another earpiercing and after that I'll decide to go for another nosepiercing. I'm still liking the idea of one little stud in both of my nostrils but I'm not sure yet. Anyways, thank you!! Have a lovely day and may no one honk at you!

Flux Capacitor

My hair was sooo greasy that day but I forgot to wash my hair in the shower so I took a risk (it's a risk in my book because it might have been at least five years since I've worn my hair out of my face, I stopped doing it because I had quite some acne in my early teens and I was extremely selfconscious about it) and slicked my hair back with some gel. I actually really liked it and I will be wearing it like this more often! Someone mistook me for my sister when I was out groceryshopping, I thought it was pretty funny. Though I have to agree that I do look a lot like her, especially with my hair like this. My brothers look a lot like each other too and we just really look a lot like each other in general, me and my siblings. I used to hate it when people would say "ZOMG you look so much like your brother/sister" but now I just smile and say "Yeah, I agree, thanks!" because to be honest, we're a handsome family! One of my nieces actually looks a lot like me too and I love it. She sounds just like me and she also loves to draw like me! Though both of my nieces are super creative, my oldest niece is a great singer! She's playing Mulan in the musical that her school is having this year and I wish I could be there to support her and sing with her.

One of my biggest 'wishes' is that my family would live closer together so that we could spend at least some christmases, holidays and birthdays together. Of course family can be a pain in the ass but in the end of the day, if we're all sensible people, we always come back together in one way or another. ANYHOO!

My mother found this jacket up in our attic a year or so ago but I didn't have the balls to wear it yet. I really felt like wearing it now because it really clashes with the rest of my outfit. The outfit is more sweet girly while the jacket is badboy eighties (M.J. Fox like! I love love love him and Back to the future! ROADS?! WHERE WE'RE GOING WE DON'T NEED "ROADS".) so I wanted to mix them together and I really liked the outcome! Those tights are new by the way, I have my usual store where I go every change of the season to buy new tights and they were having a sale with a 'buy one, get half off the second pair' offer so I found a pack of two tights (red and pink) and this gorgeous mustardy yellow one so I got 3 pairs of tights for 13 euro! I'm a total sensible shopper, people. Tights and belts are those kinds of things that I can never have enough of. Than again, I can also never have enough Zelda videogames (SKYWARD SWORD IN LESS THAN A MONTH Y'ALL!! Sorry Giulia! :-D), watercolors, lenses, nailpolishes, Ghibli and Kitano movies, hugs and kisses from my boyfriend, good music and CATS. Haha, no that's not true. I have plenty of nailpolish. KIDDING! I actually have plenty of cats. :-D Sorry, I'm feeling a little silly! Now for the outfit!

See there's a little pattern in my tights? It's like a fishnet pattern, really pretty and simple but it stands out just enough! Also, I just noticed that I can totally wear this jacket as a raincoat. Which is freaking awesome and cheap because I don't have a raincoat yet! Imagine someone living in Belgium not owning a raincoat.
Purple and yellow = so lovely!
Girl. that's some greasy ass hair!
i'm thinking of getting another piercing too. Maybe another one in my ear but I'm also kind of liking the idea of having a stud on both sides of my nose. I'm not sure about that though, getting another piercing in my nose is a little more of a big decision than just another one in my ear. I'm just gonna keep thinking until I'm sure. Anyways, thanks for reading and have a lovely day! And if you have any tips or opinions regarding the piercings (or my hair), please let me know!

The start of layering

Yes, it's getting colder and colder. I'm glad the weather is still pretty nice though, everyday there's at least a bit of sunshine so it's not all that depressing (yet). I'm not looking forward to the cloudy rainy days but I am kind of looking forward to the photography opportunities that cold mornings hold for me! Fog, frozen dew, snow and ice! Sure it's cold as hell but it's all so beautiful and magical. If you ever get the chance, go take a walk in a forest  in the morning when it has been freezing that night and you'll see the most beautiful things ever. One of my favorite things is a spiderweb with frozen dew, it's just pure magic if you ask me. But I'm getting ahead of myself, fall holds beautiful things too. I especially love the soft lighting you have just an hour before sunset. And of course the lovely colors of the leaves, the plants getting ready for winter and the fact that you can still sort of dress the way you want without entirely revolving your outfit around trying to avoid your (imaginary) cohones freezing off.

To be honest though, while I will probably bitch and moan about the cold weather ahead, I do enjoy winter. My dog, Mojo, of course named after the Power Puff Girls villain :-D, is freaking in love with winter, she eats snow and tries to fetch the snowballs you throw, it's adorable. I used to have another dog, Tigri, she was an Alaskan Malamut and she probably just wanted everyday to be snowy white. She rolled around in the snow, ran around for no reason at all, ate the snow, played in the snow and she'd just take naps in the snow too. It was just gorgeous to see such a happy dog. She's been gone for two years or so now and I can't believe she's been gone for that long. It seems like it was only yesterday that she would steal apples from the fruitbowl (yes, weirdest dog ever!) and just start snacking on them. You'd find half eaten apples in the house or garden, I always thought it was hilarious that she'd walk around with apples in her mouth. Incredibly random! :-D

Here she is, my lovely doggie:
She was already pretty old here but man, she was one of the most gorgeous dogs I've ever seen. I'll never forget her. *sniffles* Now, the outfit!
I really like the cold, slightly washed out colors in this outfit. The sweater is incredibly comfy and I love the dress I'm wearing underneath it as a skirt!
I thought this picture was pretty funny and pretty. :-D
Hope you have a wonderful day!

I've become comfortably numb

Yesss, my gorgeous Pink Floyd shirt and my awesome piano print belt, both bought in Canterbury! There were a couple of awesome little punkshops right next to each other and the one where I bought these was awesome. They had buckles, belts, wallets, shirts, bags… and all of my favorite rockbands. If I would’ve had a lot of money I would’ve freaking bought the store! :-D I couldn’t make up my mind but since the store was closing I quickly picked this gorgeous shirt and this awesome belt. All the belts were awesome and don’t even get me started on the shirts. If anyone knows a good store/website for bandshirts, let me know! I love a good band T!
I wanted to go out and take some pictures since the weather was so great that day. So I just took something comfy and slipped into it, not noticing that I actually really loved that outfit! It was perfect for rolling around in the grass, looking for beautiful little leaves and bugs to take pictures of (check out my pictures of a sweet little snail at The Canon Girl , my photography blog! :-)). Hope you enjoy my outfit! :-)

The best (pants) I ever had

Hey lovers, I'm not feeling too swell right now. My nose is all clogged up AND runny at the same time (seriously, where does all the snot come from? sorry, that's gross :-D), I'm coughing and have a sore throat. Nothing that won't be gone in a day or two but I freaking hate not being able to breath through my nose. Especially at night! I also hate not waking up and feeling better but waking up and feeling worse. But one of the worst things about having a bad cold is not being able to taste your food. I make good food and I want to be able to taste it!

Whenever me or my boyfriend have colds we just make really spicy food like chili con carne or tomato sauces/soup with lots of chili/pepper in it. I love spicy foods thanks to my boyfriend. He actually doesn't smell anything. He can kind of get a wiff of some things but I think that's more about tasting the smell in your mouth (for instance, make a cup of mint tea and than breath in the smell rather than sniffing it, you get the idea) but he also loves to cook. It took a while before he actually made something that wasn't all salt 'n pepper. He's a really good cook now and he got smarter, before he spices his food he asks me to come taste it before he throws his usual liter of Tabasco in it. :-D I'm hoping he'll cook something tasty for me in the weekend! I'm really craving goulash. My boy makes a MEAN goulash! It's a Hungarian beef stew with lots of bell peppers, chili's, onion and tomato. Ohmnomnom. We eat it with rice or potatoes and it's DAMN good. And now I'm hungry.

About my outfit: I went to a little student party at River Island with my sister and boyfriend two weeks or so ago and we won a gift voucher! I was contemplating whether I would buy these pants or not (they were almost 50 euro! That's expensive for a girl who spends her shopping money in a vintage store that sells gorgeous stuff for 5 euro!) but I thought they were a bit expensive. But we won a gift voucher worth 20 euro AND I got a discount because I'm a 'student' (not yet though, my sister gave me her student I.D. where her head looked a little rounder than it usually does. squish my sisters face together et voila: here I am! :-D) so I actually bought the fifty euro pants for eighteen euro! YAY! Also, I have the hardest time with finding proper fitting pants and this one fits like a glove! And I love crazy ass pants! The print might be a little crazy but the color is gorgeous and it easy to wear with a lot of other colors. Here come the awesome pants!

I've cut my bangs after these pictures. Since I already have pretty deep set eyes I feel that having long bangs only make my eyes disappear more. I was super careful with my bangs but I did a pretty decent job. You'll see my homemade bangs in a couple a days!
